My daughter has been taking lessons for a few months now, and we love it! I was nervous about the idea of trusting a stranger and a HUGE animal with my baby, but Martha is simply amazing. And the lesson horses are carefully chosen and perfect lesson horses. Rock Island Ranch is also home to the horses in the Horse Power program. At our first lesson, two of the other horses in a different pasture got into a loud squabble, and Martha grabbed my daughter and literally shielded her with her own body before I even know what happened. The lesson horse didn’t even react in the slightest, but her teacher was prepared. Within 20 minutes of meeting my daughter, she risked her own safety to keep my girl safe. She always practices safety first. Keeping the kids safe is her first priority, followed by keeping the horses safe. She teaches all aspects of caring for and riding horses. Needless to say, we’ve found our home. My daughter always takes a big breath and says she’s breathing in the “farm” and her horse as soon as we get there. It’s amazing how my energetic, spitfire is a girl is so calm and relaxed with Mrs. Martha and her horses.
