My program is unique in accepting preschool age children in comparison to other equestrian programs. We follow a curriculum that is based out of natural horsemanship and AQHA'S JMH, Junior Master Horseman is the most comprehensive science-based horse resource available, developed specifically to engage young horsemen. All students are provided with lesson plans which are guided by these teaching principles and their individual learning styles. We at Rock Island Ranch are not just about riding. We teach far beyond what lessons fill the page, we also focus on life lessons; leadership, care, compassion, self esteem, fear, failure and the basic foundations of teaching horsemanship, and how to overcome the same challenges in life.

Beginners are welcome.

Each lesson is private and $45 per one hour class each week.

Special Events

 

We also have offer array of lessons that are group social lessons to help in our stewardship, building bonds and communication skills. 

​

We also offer mini clinics so our youth get the experience and responsibility of horse ownership. They will get to visit a vet, a equine chiropractor, a farrier and get to see equine dentistry.
